"OUR UNDOING" NZ Tour dates announced
August 07
8 Foot Sativa will be embarking on a full NZ tour this coming September/October dates to the right...Included in the tour is a support slot for the mighty Motorhead, who are playing New Plymouth TSB Stadium 19 October
In other news, as many of you may be aware, guitarist Gary Smith has been through a rough patch of late - firstly, he injured his carpal tunnel in his right hand, forcing him out of action for a number of months - and secondly, last month his mother tragically passed away - a situation that saddened us all, with more than a few live sets being dedicated in her memory... RIP Jacqueline Smith
Asides from all this Gary's got surgery lined up very soon and is hoping to be back in ass-kicking mode yet again very soon!

New site + 'Poison of Ages' album release tour
June 07
Welcome to the brand new 8 Foot Sativa Official Website!THE NEW ALBUM IS OUT!! Poison of Ages dropped on May 21st 07 after over a year of hold-ups and various bullshit completely out of the hands of the band. But we promise you WILL NOT be disappointed with this album, it is the complete package! The new songs are faster, more epic, catchier and have the unique 8 Foot guitar brilliance that only Mr Gary Smith can deliver. Vocalist Ben Read tears his throat apart on these songs, his impassioned performance is not to be missed! For those curious about the sound, check out our Myspace at www.myspace.com/8footsativa
Things within the 8 Foot camp have been exceedingly hectic the last few months in preparation for the 'Poison of Ages' album release. The band has seen numerous lineup changes beginning late 2006 with the addition of widely-respected drummer Jamie Saint Merat from Auckland death metal band Ulcerate (vocalist Ben's other stamping ground). The subsequent departure of the mighty Brent Fox on bass left a formidable gap, but that has been more than fulfilled by none other than Romilly Smith of New Way Home fame, also bringing with him a killer second guitarist Christian 'Monk' Humphreys, the duo adding a new level of power and precision to Smith's already attacking style.
So the lineup is solid, tight as fuck and ready to kill with the 'Poison of Ages' material on tour... Speaking of which, the album release tour is commencing this Friday with Palmerston North...
